Sesame Street – Herbert Birdsfoot & The ‘et’ Family
This is a funny one about an impatient delivery man delivering some letters to a goofy nerd named Herbert Birdsfoot (I’m showing my age but I remember him well). A good lesson for kids about how d…

Wuuuhhh ET. Ssssss ET. Mmmmmmm ET.
I’ve only seen a still shot of The An Familyseries, but it was the best shot they couldhave used in whatever type of video wascreated. The F & the AN were far apart, being blown away. The ending…(Wind blows harder) Herbert: “Uh, Grover?Turn off the fan. Turn it off, Grover! Turn offthe FAAAAAAAN!” Grover: “Herb!” (CRASH!) (Wind roars louder and higher)Grover & Herbert try desperatly to reachthe fan, but they fail to turn it off.Herbert: “Aaaah–haaa!” (CRASH!)
@1980sVideoVault I remember that sketch! It was funny (and a little disturbing)!
“Hey Give Me A Break Charlie!” Haha. That line has always stuck with me.
The delivery man is VERY snarky. Great memory flash
“That’s enough, Charlie, I can see ya smiling!”
Has the Sesame Street website, or anyone else found the 3-part “AN” Familysegment with Herbert Birdsfoot & Grover? The final part is my favorite clip, whereHerbert tries to show the word “Fan” asGrover turns it on, but the fan blows awaythe props, and themselves! I recall thembeing part of the Hawaii series of SesameStreet episodes, as Buffy was still presentat the time the AN Family clips were stillairing on the show, and it was hilarious. The words were RAN CAN & FAN.
Now, will you SIGN THIS??? That line stands out in my mind the most as this is a memory I’ll never FORGET! Unfortunately for the delivery man, he would have to bring over four letters at once to make that word!:)
Isn’t it interesting how Frank Oz uses the name charlie in alot of his skits. I wonder if there was some one special in his life named charlie or if he just likes the name.
Right. That’s what I meant. A little mistype. Sorry about that.
